Tofu and a variety of soybean products have always been an important part of the diet in a lot of Asian cultures. Such products have been available in a lot of American health stores for several decades. According to research studies, tofu and soymilk can decrease the levels of cholesterol, and by that decrease the risk of heart failure, cancer and other fatal diseases. We now know that soybeans can also serve as a cure for high blood pressure.

A recent research study conducted in China by a joint group of Chinese and American scientists selected a sample of 300 patients who suffered from high blood pressure. Patients in one group received a daily intake of 40grams of soybean product, whereas the patients in the second group received regular wheat carbohydrates instead.

The purpose of the study was to determine whether soybean protein has a significant effect on blood pressure fluctuation within people experiencing mild hypertension syndromes. The study findings indicate that soybean protein caused systolic and diastolic blood pressure to decline. Therefore, it can be implied that an intake of protein derived from soybean can potentially play a vital role in providing cure for high blood pressure.
